A professional development session titled ‘Empowering English: Phonics and Pronunciation’ was conducted on 20th May 2025 for the teachers of St Monica CBSE school. The session was led by Mrs. Priscilla , an expert in English language instruction and phonetic training. The goal was to enhance teachers’ skills in teaching correct pronunciation and phonics, which are crucial for developing students’ reading and speaking proficiency.
Mrs. Priscilla began with a detailed explanation of phonics, emphasizing its importance in early language acquisition. She also included interactive activities including tongue twisters, listening discrimination tasks, phonetic song and on the spot enacting activity for the teachers’ etc. The session was well received by all participants .
The Inaugural and Valedictory function of the session graced by the presence of the School Manager Rev. Fr Melvyn D’Souza and Vice principal Rev. Fr Suraj Lobo.
This session was led by Mrs. Mamatha , Mrs. Krithi introduced the guest and Mrs. Shaija rendered the vote of thanks.
