📘 Reopening Day Ceremony Report – June 2, 2025

The new academic year 2025–26 at St. Monica English Medium School began on June 2, 2025, with a vibrant and meaningful Reopening Day Ceremony.

The event was compered by Mrs. Keerthy, who gracefully guided the proceedings. The program commenced with a prayer song sung by the teachers, invoking divine blessings for the new beginning.

A lamp lighting ceremony was held, symbolizing the light of knowledge and hope. The lamp was lit by the Manager Rev. Fr. Melwyn D’Souza, Principal, Vice Principal, Parish Pastoral Council Vice President, and Staff Secretary.

The official inauguration of the academic year was marked by the unfolding of the school flag by the Manager and the dignitaries, representing a fresh and spirited start to the new term.

Fr. Suraj delivered the welcome speech, setting a warm and motivating tone for the day. The Manager, Fr. Melwyn D’Souza, then formally welcomed all students and staff and gave a special welcome to the newly appointed teachers.

This was followed by a heartfelt address by the Principal, focusing on the goals for the new year and the importance of discipline, dedication, and teamwork.

To add a cultural flavour, the teachers performed a welcome song and a lively dance, much to the delight of the audience.

A special moment of the day was the birthday celebration of Fr. Suraj, where students and staff came together to wish him joy and blessings. A felicitation ceremony was held in his honour, followed by a warm address by the Manager, appreciating his service and presence.

The event concluded with children wishing Fr. Suraj, creating a touching and cheerful atmosphere. After the ceremony, students proceeded to their respective classes, where they were oriented by their class teachers.

As a sweet gesture, cake was distributed to all students and staff, marking both the birthday celebration and the joyful reopening of the school.
